Cookery, Catering and Hospitality (CCH)
Cooking, Catering and Hospitality is a practical, work-related learning course which will provide students with an overview of working in the Catering and Hospitality industry. Students will learn many key cooking principles and practices and a broad range of topics to complement the practical activities.
In Cooking, Catering and Hospitality students will learn about food safety in catering, how to use the Food Technology room/kitchen and its equipment safely and correctly. Students will study food and its relationship to health. They will learn about the properties of food which they then apply into their design ideas. They will apply different cooking skills and techniques in meal preparation.
The focus of the study is to promote independence for the more able learners and giving students with more complex needs a stimulating sensory experience of food.
