Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (C.E.I.A.G)

At Chatsworth High School and Community College we believe that all students are entitled to high quality and effective careers education, information and guidance.

We ensure a range of opportunities for our pupils to access a wide variety of events. These are integrated into our careers programme and curriculum and are delivered internally with input from external providers where appropriate who are invited to key relevant events.

We are highly aspirational for our students and aim to develop our students as confident individuals and responsible citizens that strive to do things more independently based on their individual needs.

We alongside other stakeholders will provide impartial guidance and advice on further education, training or employment across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

All these factors will contribute to the personal wellbeing of our students, but also the wellbeing of their families and the local community.

We aim to develop a stable careers programme to give students the skills required for future work related activities and information about destinations to prepare them for adulthood with endless possibilities and experiences.

Our Careers programme (Please see attachment at the bottom of this page) is to ensure that all our students are engaged and motivated by innovative and creative learning about careers and the world of work.

Our Careers Policy (Please see attachment at the bottom of this page) sets out in detail the support we provide to our young people and how we measure and assess the impact of the careers programme.

Our school also adhere to the Baker’s clause to  manage the access of providers to pupils at the school, for the purpose of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. (Please see attachment at the bottom of this page)

Our Careers Lead is Christa Donnelly. Christa is always happy to discuss any aspect of the programme and how best we can support your child – please feel free to contact her for more information or speak to your child’s pastoral lead.

Please contact her on (0161) 921 1405 or via email: christa.donnelly@salford.gov.uk

Our Careers Link Governor is George Kenyon.
